Yesterday, I enjoyed whipping up a batch of my family’s favorite cereal bars :-). These bars really aren’t anything extraordinary, but my entire sweet family just loves them. They’re pretty much devoured in one to two days in the Will household. I’ve shared this recipe before, but in case they were missed the first time, I thought I would share them again.
They're great for a quick breakfast on the run, a snack for packed lunches, or an after school snack (when your kids are DYING for dinner, lol!). My motto is always pretty much the same--keep it simple. And these bars are just that ;-) Hope you enjoy! #willfam2019 #enjoy 2|365
~ 6 cups of cheerios
~ 1 cup of dried cranberries
~ 1 bag of mini marshmallows
~ 3 Tablespoons of butter
~ 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup of peanut butter (I use organic, no sugar-added)
~ 2 Tablespoons of honey
Melt butter into liquid on medium to medium-high heat. Add the marshmallows and occasionally stir until fully melted. Add in peanut butter, let completely blend in with marshmallow, and then stir in honey. Take off heat and add in all of the dry ingredients. *Health Tip: I like to hide in hidden health benefits like flax sees, wheat germ, etc. in my dry ingredients--my kids never notice them!* Dump gooey cereal mixture into a non-stick Pyrex dish (I give mine a quick spritz of vegetable oil spray to ensure they don't stick). Let cool, cut into bars, individually wrap with plastic wrap, and you're good to go!
